Balansi Privacy Statement
Effective Date: October 29, 2025
Balansi is a digital assistant designed to help small business owners in Uganda record their daily sales, expenses, and banja (credit) safely and privately. Your privacy and trust are very important to us.
1. Information We Collect
Balansi only keeps the business information you provide directly — such as sales, expenses, customer names, or transaction details — for the purpose of helping you manage and summarize your records.
We do not collect any personal identification data (like national ID numbers or passwords) unless you explicitly provide it as part of a business note.
2. How Your Data Is Used
Your data is used only to:
-
Track your sales, expenses, and profits
-
Generate summaries and insights (daily, weekly, or monthly)
-
Help you follow up on banja and customer payments
Balansi never sells, shares, or uses your business information for advertising or marketing.
3. Data Storage and Security
All business data is stored securely within OpenAI’s trusted infrastructure.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse, or unauthorized access.
4. Your Control Over Data
You can request a copy of your records, delete them, or export them anytime (for example, via CSV or SMS).
Deleting your data permanently removes it from Balansi’s system.
5. Third-Party Services
If you connect Balansi with services like MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, or WhatsApp for order tracking, only transaction summaries and messages relevant to your business are used — not personal chats or unrelated data.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this statement from time to time to reflect new features or improvements.
When that happens, Balansi will notify you in the app before the new version takes effect.
7. Contact
For questions or concerns about privacy, reach out through the contact option in Balansi or email support@balansi.app
